The first cycle event of this kind held in Sligo took place in 2009 and every year since then. All have been outstanding successes with over 2,500 cyclists taking part last year. It was fantastic to see so many people of all ages and cycling abilities out on their bikes and enjoying all that Sligo has to offer. So let’s build on this and make it an even better event in 2017!. This cycling tour will afford the people of Sligo and visitors to the County, the chance to enjoy stunning scenery ranging from majestic mountains to spectacular sea views and including picturesque country scenery and rural villages from the saddle of their bike.

The Routes 2017:
The event will involve 5 different routes and will hopefully accommodate a wide range of cycling interests, including the leisure cyclist, family cycling and of course, seasoned/experienced cyclists.
Saturday 29th April:
10k Hazelwood Spin for All (9yrs+)
Description: 10km Hazelwood Spin for All is about fun, enjoyment and participation, with safety a key priority. The cycle is along a flat route from IT Sligo to Half Moon Bay Hazelwood and back with a water/fruit stop. This cycle will have lead and trail cars and all cyclists will travel within the zone of the two cars. more>>
2k Bike Trail (6 to 8 yrs)
Description: The 2km Bike Trail will take place inside the grounds of the IT Sligo. This Cycle will have a lead cyclist and marshals and the cycle will be at an easy pace to accommodate the young cyclists involved. more>>

60k Lough Gill Circuit
Description: The Lough Gill Circuit, at 60 km, is suitable for those who have a reasonable level of fitness. It is over relatively flat terrain but includes a few gradual hill climbs and will be enjoyed by leisure cyclists as well as more experienced touring cyclists… more »

It is designed for the touring cyclist who has possibly decided to step up their training regime from having participated in the Lough Gill Circuit in previous years.
