Unsure about the 160K Ox Mountain Challenge??
We have received a number of phone calls relating to the 160km Ox Mountain Challenge.
Our advice is as follows:
The 160km Ox Mountain Challenge requires a high level of cycling fitness and experience. Cyclists who do not reach the T junction at the Cloonacool 160K option/ Coolaney 100K option (43K into cycle) by 11.30 a.m. are strongly advised to turn right and join the 100K route. This measure is being taken for health and safety concerns for the cyclists themselves and out of consideration for event volunteers. Your co – operation is appreciated.
The second foodstop on the 160K at Coolaney (109K) will close at 3.30pm and the event officially finishes at 5.30 pm at which time the support services on the road will cease and the event headquarters at the Institute of Technology will close.
Wishing you a safe and enjoyable cycle and if you have any further queries please go to the ‘help desk’ at sign on in the Institute of Technology Sligo
